It's Midnight and I Just Want to Say....

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!! WELCOMING IN 2011!!!!

List of single digit dates this year:

1-1-11 (TODAY!)

1-11-11

11-1-11

11-11-11!!!!

Dear 2010

Dear 2010,

You've been a good year. You'll be missed! Here's some firsts that I've been blessed with...

My FIRST time hearing of Emily Bear

My FIRST time making a true best friend.

My FIRST time turning 14 (hehe!)

My FIRST time dancing in the Christmas cantata!

My FIRST blogging anniversary!

My FIRST time going to Summer camp!

You've also given us plenty of trouble, too. It's been a scary year, in many ways. But, we've learned through you, 2010, how to rely on the LORD more than ever! I've learned many things about true friendship, how it feels to have a true best friend (even if she is quite a bit older than I am), how it feels to be completely stressed out by school, and how to mature as a fourteen year old.

2010, you've been a good companion, even if it was only for a year.

2011...we're ready and waiting for ya! (Besides the wisdom teeth bit, I'm excited!) I've got piano competitions, piano recitals, dance recitals (YES!), Christmas parades (yay!), Christmas cantata again (yay!), and lessons to learn, I'm sure, numerous lessons. The one crazy group...the freezing million of people standing in the middle of Times Square in New York, New York, waiting for a gigantic crystal ball to drop...they'll be glad when you come rollin' in!

LORD, thank You for giving us 2010 and the gift of 2011!!!

Some Fun Pictures

This is actually my mp3; zoom in and see who's on it! (Yes, I got Emily Bear mp3's with my Christmas money!)

A Christmas present from my piano teacher; a chocolate lollipop!

Tree-top angel; my present to my mom last year!

Our Christmas tree!

ZOOM IN HERE!!! These are some crazy Kit-Kat candy bars that I got....

Cookies for....EMILY BEAR!!! Just kidding; I decided to decorate the eighth note cookies with her name....
Rebecca Rubin as Lucy Pevensie in "Voyage of the Dawn Treader".

What are Ya Doin' New Years Eve?

Edited to add: Sparklers and pop-its were thrown back into the mix...my mom caved and bought potato chips. :D

If you want my answer, besides than making my 100th post , nothing. We don't do fireworks. No family is coming over. We don't host parties. We don't eat junk food. Sad. This is a boring 100th post. This is a boring anniversary post. This is a boring everything post. Period. End of discussion. Nothing else to be said. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Nothing absolutely.

Fifth post of the day; reminiscent of the five posts of my first day of blogging...one year ago today!

FOUR TIMES?!

Bless me if I haven't gone and forgotten that....

TODAY IS MY BLOG'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you, E. for emailing me and reminding me!!!! (You know who you are!) Hmm, if I posted one more time tonight, I'd be at 100 posts!!!! I'll save that for tomorrow, though.

Two Weeks Left...

Until I get my teeth pulled. I know that I have posted three times today, but the three posts are completely irrelevant to each other.

Okay, You've Been Fairly WARNED...

You might die of laughter from this video. My sides still hurt. Comment and say what you guys think!

The Twelve Days of Christmas (Lyrics from Jo March's blog)
Straight No Chaser

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me,
a partridge in a pear tree.
On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me,
two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.
On the fourth day of Christ--
On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me,
five golden rings, four calling birds, three french hens,
two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree

On the ninth day of Christmas, On the eighth day of Christmas
my true love gave to me my true love gave to me
9 ladies dancing 8 maids a milking
8 maids a milking 7 swans a swimming

I Saw....

The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader!!!! I saw it in 3D.

Point by point:

--LOVE the way that they go into Narnia; very creative!

--The Dawn Treader itself? Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! Can I sail on it? Pretty please?

--I was kind of bummed out that Lucy only got the blouse and bloomers the entire time (save the dream scene where Aslan appears). The costume designer did a wonderful job of making her look good in it, though.

--The music; while it was nice, I missed Harry Gregson-Williams. The new composer (David Arnold) did a wonderful job, but some parts of it sounded rather Charlotte's Web-ish, if you know what I mean. I like the way he recycled the old theme, though. (Duum dum-dum dum, dum dum dum dum duum dum)

--I liked the way that they portrayed temptation; green mist. Very nice.

--I didn't like the cameo role of the White Witch.

--I LOVED the Eustace/dragon scenes; very creative.

--Love the new actors; Will Poulter (Eustace Clarence Scrubb) and Drinian's actor (can't remember his name right now).

--Narnian die hard fans will be glad to know that, no, Susan and Peter do not return to Narnia.

--They did an excellent job with the CGI. I loved the Dufflepuds (though they shortened the scene) and Coriakin's garden. They edited Aslan and Reepicheep, and I was surprised at that choice, but overall, they did a great job with the CGI, especially...

--The Sea Serpent. They did an amazing job animating that, and, while I might be more prepared living with lizards (I'm used to all things reptilian; real life or no), it wasn't as scary as I thought that it would be. It was in 3D, so that made it more exciting, but I expected something scarier.

--Ramandu doesn't appear! Bummer! His daughter, Lilliandil, makes an appearance, but I wanted to see the scene with Ramandu and the birds put on screen.

--I liked Caspian's new look/act. He lost the Spanish accent and he has a beard, but I thought that he looked more Caspian-ish, the way I imagined him from the book.

--SPOILERS: BEWARE. I wanted to see three things in the movie: the albatross after Dark Island, Aslan's speech to the children, and Reepicheep's hug from Lucy. I was very pleased when I saw all three! The albatross did not say, "Courage, dear heart," to Lucy as it flew by, but he was in there, so I won't complain. Aslan's speech...exact words from the book! Reepicheep's hug...oh my. I am not a movie crier, but that part was so sweet!

--Bummed out that they didn't have the scene where Eustace swung Reepicheep around by the tail (sorry if that sounds cruel). That would have been interesting to see.

--Be careful who you sit by; I cried through most of the ending. Even my mother cried. It was kind of a bittersweet ending. I won't say much about it, but it does end well.

--Arabella Morton, who plays Rhince's daughter, Gael, did a wonderful job acting!

--Georgie Henley, aka Lucy Pevensie, did a wonderful job as usual!

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (movie) Georgie Henley as Lucy in "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader."

--They changed Reepicheep's voice; he sounds more the way I imagined him to.

P.S. Don't you love this photo???

This is Not Good at All.

And might I emphasize the at all. I'm getting all four of my wisdom teeth out in January. I'm only 14. Most people get them done when they're around seventeen. I'm really scared and I've been crying myself to sleep a lot. What's more, I'll have to miss gymnastics (SAD) because my surgery is the day before and also I'll probably have to miss Mass on Sunday too. I've had general anesthesia before and I hated it, but I'd rather have that happen instead of getting stuck twelve times (for real, twelve times) with a needle (local anesthesia). I'll probably look like a chipmunk for two to three days and I'll be on a diet of soft foods (the worst thing ever!) for close to a week. I'll be using gauze, tissues, bandages, saltwater rinse...if it's horrible, I'll probably be using it. Okay...I've griped enough. To get to the point; can ya'll pray for me? I'm a nervous wreck.

Please Don't Rain on My Parade

Hey All, I danced in my third and last Christmas parade of the year today...fun, but I'm a little sad that I won't see anyone from dance for two weeks. It was rainy, cold, and we were wearing skirts much like the blue one I have posted here, but they are cotton and about three inches shorter. It was just POURING rain, and it didn't get past sixty one degrees the entire time. It was fun...and extremely wet. We were number fifty three; out of about twenty five floats. Yup. The bands dropped out because of woodwinds and drums, and the rest of the floats that didn't show must have quit because of safety reasons. I almost didn't get to dance because my dad was worried that, with the weather, I would get hypothermia. I didn't; I'm fine. I've actually danced in the rain during a parade three times before; it seems that at least one of the parades is rainy.

While we were waiting to start, we were back in an empty lot where all of the floats wait before the parade starts. All but two of us were without jackets. Some of us had umbrellas, but most of us were jacket-less and umbrella-less. (I must say here that while we were practicing our dance, one of my teachers did it, umbrella in hand, and was completely dry until we actually got going.) And today of all days, I forgot my rain jacket. It really wouldn't have done much, though; nobody could leave their jackets on.

We were stamping our feet, jumping up and down, blowing on our hands, and *trying* to be optimistic. One of the girls said, trying to be positive, "It's sunny out, and eighty degrees, and it's not raining, and we aren't wet-" At this comment, giggles erupted among the rest of us.

"We're dancin' in the rain
Just dancin' in the rain.
What a terrible feelin'
I'm soggy again..."

Afterward, we were thoroughly soaked and very cold. The skirts did little to nothing in keeping us warm. Last year it was raining and it didn't get past fifty four degrees; that year, we weren't wearing the skirts; we were dancing in t-shirts and black jazz pants! All I can say is: "Knock on wood; hope this never happens again!"

PLEASE PRAY

Hey all,
Could you please pray that my mom finds her wallet? She doesn't usually use it unless she needs extra cash or something like that, so please pray that it shows up! Thanks!

Edited to add: Hey, all! My mom found her wallet; it was in her purse the entire time, but she just didn't see it! She searched in her purse, but for some reason, she didn't see it.
