Lent, Biology class, and Earthworm Dissection

Yesterday was the first day of Lent, otherwise known to us Catholics and some Protestants as Ash Wednesday. My ashes are still on my forehead, more than 24 hours later. They're stuck to me like glue! It's nuts... oh, well. I wear my ashes with pride! (After all, "Remember man that thou art dust and unto dust thou shalt return"!)

Yesterday, my family fasted (tradition) and that fish sandwich I had for dinner was so good...fasting is NOT eating only one meal a day. We eat two small meals and one normal meal, but the two small meals must not equal to the size of the normal meal (which can not be huge). We also abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, all Fridays of Lent, and Good Friday, which is the Friday before Easter Sunday. Last year my mom fried tilapia every Friday during Lent and I never got tired of it. :D

What am I doing for myself during Lent? Trying not to complain as much (OY!), get a better prayer life, and (deep breath) bemorepatientandnotgetangry. Could you understand that? No? FINE, I"LL PUT IT IN PLAIN ENGLISH FOR YOU!!! Oops... :P Just kidding. :)

You may be wondering about the Biology class/Earthworm dissection part in the title. First of all, Mrs. J. put this up in class...

I love it. Yes, friends, the module for these two weeks is invertebrates. And I have to dissect an earthworm. Yippee. I'll post pictures. Not. That'd be gross. It's gonna be gross. I just know it. But it must be done. C'est la vive. (Did I spell that right?)

woah, lol, my ashes were just the opposite... Gone by the end of the day :( I had karate last night at the YMCA, though, and saw several people with them on... Made me and my mom happy! :D :D haha.
